The record

Twenty-five years of building payments businesses.

From merchant acquiring floors to public-company scale. Every chapter below is a business that was built, launched, or grown, not observed.

LAC Strategic Ventures
Founder & Managing Principal
2023 – present

Operator-led payments advisory for SaaS companies, private equity portfolio companies, and their investors. Client engagements are confidential; what clients choose to say publicly about the work is collected on the recommendations. The practice is deliberately small: I scope the work and I do the work.

Duck Creek Technologies
Chief Payments Officer

Brought in on a contract basis through LAC Strategic Ventures, then joined as Chief Payments Officer. Recruited by Vista Equity Partners-owned Duck Creek, the core-systems platform for property and casualty insurance, to build a payments business inside a global carrier ecosystem serving 150+ insurers, including the top five North American P&C carriers.

Built the Worldpay-powered payment infrastructure announced in February 2025, and launched the Duck Creek Payments Marketplace from scratch, bringing Paymentus, Invoice Cloud, Zelis, and other providers into a single integrated ecosystem. The Zelis partnership for claims-payment modernization was announced in November 2025.

Applied Systems
Chief Payments Officer, Applied Pay

Joined Hellman & Friedman-owned Applied Systems, the leading insurance agency management platform, to build an embedded-payments business from nothing: no team, no playbook, no infrastructure.

Built and launched Applied Pay globally across the US, Canada, and UK on Adyen infrastructure. General availability came October 3, 2022, the fastest new product launch in the company's recent history. Applied Pay remains a flagship example of embedded payments done right inside vertical SaaS.

Nuvei
EVP, Partnership Group
North America

Joined Pivotal Payments in 2017 as a merchant-services industry veteran, announced publicly at the time, and stayed through the company's 2018 rebrand to Nuvei and its transformation into one of the fastest-growing payment technology companies in North America.

As EVP of the Partnership Group North America at Nuvei, led revenue and channel leadership through the period in which the Novacap and CDPQ-backed company grew revenue from $246M to $725M, integrated five acquisitions, SafeCharge ($889M), Smart2Pay, Base Commerce, Mazooma in US gaming and sports wagering, and Paymentez in Latin America, and completed its record-breaking TSX IPO in September 2020 at approximately $4.3B in market capitalization.

The Nuvei years compressed a decade of lessons into four: how partnership channels scale revenue faster than direct sales, how acquisitions integrate (and how they don't), and what it takes to carry a payments business through a public listing.

Powerhouse Payments
& Total Merchant
CEO · Executive Leadership

CEO, Powerhouse Payments. Built a merchant payments business from zero to scale and exited through a strategic sale. Full P&L ownership through concept, build, and exit: the product, the merchant acquisition engine, and the operational infrastructure, all from the ground up.

Executive leadership, Total Merchant. Led the commercial and strategic direction of a major payments processor through a significant period of change, resulting in a successful strategic exit.

What the record adds up to

Builder, not auditor

Four payments businesses built from zero: Powerhouse, Applied Pay, Duck Creek Payments, and the Nuvei partnership channel. Ground-up PayFac implementations across Adyen, Worldpay, Stripe, and traditional BIN/ICA sponsorship.

Operator at every scale

From founder-stage P&L ownership to named-executive leadership at a public company through its TSX listing, to C-suite roles inside Vista and Hellman & Friedman portfolio companies.

Partnerships as the engine

The consistent thesis across every chapter: distribution and partnerships compound faster than direct sales. Worldpay, Adyen, Paymentus, Zelis, Visa-network programs, and 200+ merchant verticals across the US and Canada.

“Every chapter was built, not observed.”
